Upama....!


Ingredients:-

Sooji-1 bowl
udid dal-1 tsp.
oil-2 tsp.
finely chopped onion-1
green peas-1/4 bowl
carrots-2
cashews-1/4 bowl(optional)
crushed fresh ginger-1/4 tsp.
yogurt-2 tsp.
salt-to taste
sugar-to taste
Hot water-2 bowl

for tempering:-
mustard seed-1/4tsp.
hing-1/4tsp.
curry leaves-7/8
green chillies-2/3

For garnishing-
fresh chopped coriander leaves-1/4 bowl
fresh grated coconut-as required
lemon juice

Method:-

1)Dry roast sooji with udid dal on medium heat with 1/4 tsp.oil/ghee till sooji turns light brown,Keep stirring to avoid burning sooji.

2)In a frying pan,take 2tsp.of oil,add mustard seeds,hing,curry leaves,green chillies,once the curry leaves starts spluttering,add cashews,fry it for a minute.

3)Add finely chopped onion & fry it for a minute,add green peas,chopped carrots,& fry for 2 minutes,add hot water.

4)Once the water starts boiling,add salt,sugar as per taste,add yogurt,crushed ginger,& let it boil.

5)As the water boils add roasted sooji,nix well,cover it with lid,& let it cook for 3 minutes.

6)Garnish it with fresh chopped coriander,fresh grated coconut.

7)Sprinkle some lemon juice.

8)Serve hot.
