Vada-Pav.....


Ingredients:-
Potatoes(boiled & peeled)-4 big
Oil-1 tbsp.+for deep frying
Hing-a pinch
Turmeric powder-1/4tsp.
Green chili-garlic paste-1 tsp
salt-to taste
fresh chopped coriander leaves-1/4cup
lemon juice-1tsp.
garlic(chopped)-2 cloves
Dinner roll bread(Pav)-6

To make the batter for vada
Coarse gram flour(Besan)-1 cup
Red chili powder-as per taste
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp.
salt-to taste

Method:-
1)To make the batter for vada take the coarse gram flour in a big bowl,add chili powder,turmeric powder,salt to it.Add sufficient water and whip to a smooth thick batter,& set aside for 15 mins.
2)Heat 1 tbsp.of oil in a frypan,add hing,turmeric powder,smashed boiled peeled potatoes,& fry for a minute,add chili-garlic paste,salt,a pinch of sugar,& mix well.Keep it aside,& let it cool.
3)Add chopped coriander leaves & lemon juice,& mix well.
4)Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions & shape them into balls.
5)Heat sufficient oil in the deep frying pan,dip the potato balls in gram flour batter,& deep fry till golden & crisp on the outside.
6)Drain on absorbant paper.
7)Split dinner roll,spread some dry garlic chutney,Place vada,& press lightly,serve immediately.
You can have date-tamarind chutney also with it if you like:)
